Spring planting has been an adventure in the Northern Red River Valley this year. Last Tuesday’s rain, for the most part, put a temporary halt on planting in the county, according to Madeline Smith, Pembina County Agricultural specialist. Even prior to the June 14 rain event, Smith said that there were some acres in the county that were too wet for farmers to get their equipment in to plant. …
