Ross Mapel, 38, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away in a motor vehicle accident east of Grafton on Wednesday January 13, 2021. Ross Dean Mapel was born January 21, 1982 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Richard and Judy (Baldock) Mapel. He grew up near Drayton and graduated from Drayton High School in 2000. He then attended Trinity Bible College, Jamestown College and University of ND. In 2007 he was united in marriage to Rebekah Ehlers, and had a son, Landon Scott Mapel. In 2015 he was united in marriage to Crystal Forschen. Ross worked in agriculture with his step father, Mike Stellon for most of his life along with Dan Mapel, Brooks Stellon and Greg Osowski. Ross had a loving playful heart that he often shared with everyone that knew him, especially with his children. Ross was also a dedicated Vikings fan. He was a very competitive person and enjoyed watching his son Christian competing in high school sports as well as building forts with his son Landon. He is survived by his wife, Crystal; a son, Landon Scott Mapel, Drayton; two step children, Christian Larson, Drayton and Alexa Larson, Grand Forks; his parents, Judy (Michael) Stellon, Drayton and Rick (Gail) Mapel, Providence Forge, VA; a brother, Daniel (Jessica) Mapel, Drayton; a brother by heart, Brooks (Tarri) Stellon, Drayton; step sisters, Glenda Indyck, Providence VA and Ginger Feltner, Greely, CO; and a step brother, Geremy Clooten, CO grandparents, Donald Baldock, East Grand Forks, MN, Eloise Hanson, Bismarck, ND, step grandfather, Doug Born, Moorhead, MN. Ross was proceeded in death by his uncles Mark Hanson and Charles Baldock; Grandfathers, Daryl Mapel and Marvin Hanson; Grandmothers, Delores Baldock and Carole Born.

Funeral services were scheduled for Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church, Drayton. Interment will be in the Bowesmont Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church for two hours prior to the service. Rev. Leroy Aufenkamp, presiding; Rev. Matthew Aufenkamp, readings; special music was be provided by Lindsey Culver.

Casket bearers were Brooks Stellon, Matthew Aufenkamp, Ryan Puppe, Trey Cummings, Parker Olson, Austin Hermanson and Greg Osowski.
